Our New General Service List (NGSL) Project has produced 7 different corpus-based lists of important vocabulary words for second language learners, as well as a host of online tools for utilizing them (all lists and tools are open-source and free). This presentation will introduce our latest list, the New Dolch List (NDL) for young learners, as well as the rest of our NGSL lists and resources.

Dr. Browne is Professor of Applied Linguistics and TESOL at Meiji Gakuin University. He is a specialist in Second Language Vocabulary Acquisition and Extensive Reading, especially as they apply to online learning environments, and has written dozens of research articles, books, and textbooks over his 30 years in Japan. In addition to his recent work in creating seven important new corpus-based word lists for second language learners known as the New General Service List (NGSL) Project, he has also helped to create a wide variety of free research-based language learning and analysis software and websites for these lists, working hard to share this knowledge with teachers and researchers through countless presentations, seminars and hand-on workshops around the world.
